Yekaterinburg to welcome Russia-EU summit with Europe’s Days Festival

May 27, 2013. Yekaterinburg will welcome the start of the Russia-EU summit on May 31-June 1 with a large-scale Europe’s Days Festival.

The spokesperson for the city council reports that this event will give all the local residents an opportunity to feel the taste of Europe without leaving the city.

The festival will be held on May 28-June 9 and will feature not only entertainment pieces like European film and animation cartoons showings in the Salut Movie Theater, but also an international research-to-practice conference on A Modern City: Modernizing the Area and the Area of Modernizing, which will be hosted by Ural Federal University.

What is more, on the day the summit opens, 23 Yekaterinburg restaurants will offer their customers a special European menu; on June 1, a bicycle parade will ride from Trud Square to Mayakovsky Park. The representatives of some diplomatic missions and the city council officials will take place in the parade.
