Uralvagonzavod Looks at Promising Produce

March 06, 2013. A science & engineering council’s meeting took place at Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s head plant. For three days, the representatives of the corporation’s member companies and people from the Moscow-based Corporate Governance Center talked about the promising produce the corporation can offer customers, and the economic and technical efficiency of existing goods, Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s press service reports.

The science & engineering council is chaired by Uralvagonzavod’s Chief Engineer and comprises the company’s leading experts: Chief Energy Expert, Chief Metallurgist, designers, and some other specialists. The council has to make the strategic decisions on modernization or launch of new kinds of vehicles, machinery, and technologies that have to be approved of by the enterprise’s leading experts. The decisions are taken jointly, by voting, and with every council member’s opinion taken into account.

This council’s primary topic for discussion has to do the projects on railway carriage manufacturing. Over 10 new samples of railway vehicles and projects on their modernization were considered by the council. Some of the makes were seen as quite promising.

Plans were updated for some of the R&D projects, and new deadlines were set for their implementation. New kinds of railway vehicles were proposed for nearly every item in the corporation’s product range.
