Oblkommunenergo to Set Up Logistics Center in Artemovsky

7 December 2012 (09:37)

December 7, 2012 Oblkommunenergo is setting up a logistics center on the premises of Artemovsky power station for the delivery of fuel, machinery, and materials onto its divisions in 43 local towns, the enterprise’s PR Department reports.

Experts say the location of both Artemovsky and the power station warehouses meets all the necessary conditions for creating such a center: there are railways there, as well as specialized equipment; what is more, cranes and loaders will be introduced soon. These warehouses are already being used to store the fuel for the company’s divisions and other companies. A number of organizational issues also have to be settled to ensure the logistics center can operate effectively. The center is expected to reach its full capacity in the middle of 2013.

‘An inspection of the warehouses revealed that about 1,000 straw brooms and several scores of special oversize leather boots are still stored there from the Soviet times. The power station employees explain this stock is still there because they don’t have the heart to throw these useful things away. One of these brooms is now used as an exhibit at Oblkommunenergo Monstrosities Museum,’ the company says.
