October 26, 2012. Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), a member of Pipe Metallurgical Company organized an Initiation Ceremony for its young workers. The ceremony was attended by a hundred college and vocational school graduates who joined STZ this year. The event took place in the plant’s museum facility, next to the casting yard of Severskaya Furnace, which is a 19th century industrial architecture landmark.

To commemorate this event, heads of production departments, chairmen of trade unions, and the company’s long-service employees prepared their speeches for the newcomers and gave them booklets on the plant’s corporate culture and Young Worker badges. Also, a video on the plant’s history and today’s life was shown on a big screen. The ceremony was finished off with performances by the STZ children’s clubs members.

The initiation ceremony is part of the plant’s policy targeted at finding and retaining professional cadre. The company puts the newcomers into the limelight and thus shows its interest in the young workers and its willingness to help them in mastering their skills.
