In the eight months of 2012, over 10bn cubic meters of natural gas were consumed in Sverdlovsk Region. Last year, over 18bn cubic meters were consumed in the region, Vice Premier of Sverdlovsk Region Government Sergey Zyryanov said at a meeting with the heads and employees of local gas enterprises.

The meeting was held at Sverdlovsk Region Government building, and the attendees were greeted on behalf of Governor Evgeny Kuivashev and the government by Sergey Zyryanov and the Minister for Energy & Communal Housing Services Nikolai Smirnov.

‘The Governor and the region’s government have grand plans for large-scale expansion of natural gas networks in the region. A general scheme for expanding the network has been designed. While between 150 and 300 km of networks are built every year on average, we actually need twice as much, at least. The large natural gas holdings have promised to invest in the process, but these are the gas distribution companies that actually work with the end users, and we are counting on your professionalism and on your active involvement,’ Vice Premier said.
