UTair Not Allowed to Own Plekhanovo Airport’s Airfield

17 February 2012 (09:19)

Tyumen Region Arbitration Court sustained the claim placed by Rosimuschestvo against UTair Aviation Company; the state agency denied the airline’s ownership rights over the airfield of Plekhanovo Airport in Tyumen, the Russian Agency for Legal & Court Information reports.

The court also confirmed the Russian Federation’s ownership rights over the air field, whose total area comes to 98.7 hectares.

The claim was placed with the court by Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region Yugra division of the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimuschestvo).

The defendant asked the court to reject the plaintiff’s claims and submitted a petition for the limitation period to be enacted.

The air field in question, alongside with some other state-owned assets, was transferred to UTair Aviation Company under a renting agreement (dated June 2, 2003) and a transfer act, the court’s ruling states.
