Tyumen Region Arbitration Court declared the 2.56m RUR fine imposed on UTair Aviation Company by Tyumen division of Russia’s Antimonopoly Service legitimate.
Now on June 28, 2011, Tyumen division of Russia’s Antimonopoly Service admitted there was a collusion on the air travel market. The agency ruled that UTair and Yamal had violated Article 11 (part 1) of the Federal Competition Protection Act (collusion).
Having looked into the files relating to the case, the agency detected that UTair Aviation Company and Yamal Aviation Transport Company set the economy class ticket prices for Tyumen-Sochi-Tyumen flight at about the same scale. This was done in the summer of 2010, at the height of the tourist season.
