Once an international Architects’ Board has been set up in Academic District of Yekaterinburg, the entire city’s appeal will become much stronger. Our city has a few schools of architectural thought, which is a very good thing. However, attracting some foreign experts will definitely add some color to the city’s architecture,’ Alexander Kosintsev, who has a PhD in Economics and is a Professor at Ural State University of Economics, told UrBC.

For now, an Architects’ District Council has been set up in Academic District that has well-reputed Russian and foreign architects on the board.

‘If Yekaterinburg is appealing in terms of architecture, this will serve as a factor in the decision to host the international exhibition EXPO 2020 here. Of course, there will be a number of criteria at play, but the architecture of a city that can potentially host such a large-scale event is also crucial,’ he pointed out.
