Uralsvayzinform to hold EGM on January 21

The extraordinary general meeting of OAO Uralsvyazinform’s stockholders will take place on January 21, 2010. The telecommunications provider reports that the meeting has to be organized upon the request of OAO Svyazinvest which owns 16,608,946,183 ordinary shares of the company. OAO Uralsvyazinform is now being taken over by Rostelecom, which is why 1,740 people are supposed to be laid off at the end of 2010 and the first half of 2011.

Standard & Poor's: Alfa-Bank’s ratings remain the same

Vinnichenko to care for Uralsvyazinform’s laid-off staff

Monorail to link Verkhnyaya Pyshma to Yekaterinburg

Investbank suspected of colluding with insurer

Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service is to resume looking into Case 85 involving OAO AKB Investbank’s GRAN subsidiary and Yekaterinburg branch of OAO Voyenno-Strakhovaya Kompaniya, an insurer. The two companies are accused o violating Article 11 (part 1, paragraph 5) of the Competition Protection Act. Cosmetics giants fight over hand cream

Moscow Arbitration Court supported the ruling and order of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service regarding OAO Svoboda, a cosmetics company. The FAS stated earlier that Svoboda had committed an act of unfair competition through the illegal use of a trademark belonging to Concern Kalina. Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service imposed a 100,000-ruble fine on ZAO P.R. Rus for launching an inappropriate Martell advertisement, the spokesperson for the Service reports.
