Sverdlovsk Region Duma approved of the changes made to chapter 8 of the regional land management law after the second and third readings. According to the changes approved of by the Duma Committee for Industrial, Agricultural, and Environmental Management Policies, the ‘no man’s land’ (that is, the land allotments that belong neither to the region nor to a municipality) will be distributed by the city councils only after agreeing on this with Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for Public Property Management.

Sverdlovsk Region deputies approved of the legislation on public property management within the region and on privatization process in 2007 in the course of their thirty-fourth meeting. According to Deputy Chairman of Committee for Industrial, Agricultural, and Environmental Management Policies Nikolai Krupin, the region was going to spend more on repair and maintenance as well as on buying the shares of open joint stock companies.

The total amount of regional budget expenditures related to public property management might rise from 500 million RUR to 900 million, Sverdlovsk Region Minister for Public Property Management Alexei Molotkov announced at the extraordinary meeting of Sverdlovsk Region Duma. Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for State Property Management is going to look into the way the assets of Sverdlovsk Region Automobile Transport Union are used, the ministry’s press officer informed UrBC.
