Hungarian Consulate in Yekaterinburg Makes Schengen Visas to Slovakia

Starting February 15, 2011, Hungarian Consulate General in Yekaterinburg will be offering travelers Schengen Visas on behalf of the Kingdom of Denmark. ‘The terms of getting a Danish visa are no different from the general Schengen visa requirements. The bilateral international agreement signed by the Hungarian and Danish Governments has made it possible for Hungarian Consulate-General in Yekaterinburg to issue short-term Schengen visas to Denmark, Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for International and Foreign Economic Relations’ press service reports. This means that, with the Danish agreement, the consulate can also offer travelers and businesspeople visas to Austria, Latvia, Slovenia, and Finland in addition to issuing Hungarian visas proper.

Hungarian Consulate-General in Yekaterinburg has been entitled to issuing Schengen visas to Latvia beginning from August 15, 2008 after the corresponding bilateral agreement was signed by the Republic of Hungary and the Republic of Latvia’s governments. ‘The list of documents the applicants must provide for their Schengen visas to Latvia and the consular fees are exactly the same as the ones you need to submit and pay to enter any country of the Schengen area,’ the spokesperson for the Ministry for International and Foreign Economic Relations of Sverdlovsk Region reports.

The amount of European visas issued to Russians plummeted by 30% to 40% this year, Senior Consul at Consulate-General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Pal Fabian announced in the course of a press breakfast at a tourist fair. According to Fabian, this was mainly caused by shrinking tourist traffic and therefore the demand for visas, which, in its turn, has to do with Russia’s economic hardships. ‘As for the year 2015, the situation is far from rosy.
