This year, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) has designed and launched a number of new high duty rolled metal manufacturing technologies. This was done within the framework of a special program on adjusting the company’s automobile body sheets for the demands of foreign automobile and car parts manufacturers.
The new technologies have been applied to the production of pilot batches of hot-rolled S355MC, cold-rolled HC340LA, and galvanized HX300LAD and HX340LAD high-duty rolled metal products that meet the Western standards DIN EN 10149-2:1995, DIN EN 10268:2006, and DIN EN 10292:2007, respectively.
The metal product samples were sent to OOO PKF DiPos, Benteler, Volkswagen AG и Renault for acceptance.
OOO PKF DiPos has already replied that their mechanical tests proved S355MC, HC340LA, HX300LAD, and HX340LAD steels to fully comply with the international standards. MMK is also waiting to hear from the foreign car manufacturers.
According to MMK PR Department, the program on adjusting the company’s automobile body sheets for the demands of foreign automobile and car parts manufacturers is still being implemented, so the enterprise expects to start making new high-duty rolled metal products in the near future.
