The Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development keeps implementing its strategy of making financial services available within a stone’s throw of any customer through expanding its subsidiary network. This means the number of customers, offices, and hi-tech products used keeps growing as well. Therefore the bank is increasingly focused on improving its IT resources.

At the same time, the company is intent on providing its customers with the best service, making it as speedy as the customers would like it to be, and this is where reliable and advanced technology is a must. This is why the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development has recently launched the new Sun SPARC64 VI-based M9000 system, which enables the company’s server to process much more information within a considerably shorter period of time and cuts down on a customer’s wait. Remarkably, the company was the first bank to launch such a premium Sun server in Ural Federal District and is now using one of Russia’s ten such servers.

‘We’ve been doing business with Sun for over a decade and rely on them for all our software,’ says the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s IT Director Yuri Mironov.

‘The launch of the new server provides us with certain capacity and dependability that is bound to boost the bank’s further development in terms of geographical expansion, introduction of new products and services, and improving on customer services,’ he notes.
