Urals and Volga Interregional Network Company closed down

16 August 2007 (08:34)

Following the decision taken by RAO UES of Russia Board of Directors on April 27, 2007, what was formerly known as the Urals and Volga Interregional Network Company is to be named the Urals Interregional Network Company now. The company has also acquired an English name - something it did not use to have before, the spokesperson for the new enterprise reports.

This means that re-structuring the whole system of the interregional power distribution networks has resulted in setting up a new large Ural company that will unite the electric networks of Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, and Kurgan Regions as well as of Perm Territory.

'We are currently busy assessing the shares of the regional networks and doing the inventory control. This is expected to have been finished by August 31, 2007. The companies’ boards of directors are to decide on the assessor that will do the share-evaluating procedure, with the whole thing to be completed by this October,’ reports General Director of Urals Interregional Network Company Alexei Bobrov.
