94.7% of Sverdlovsk Region hotels remain non-starred

216 hotels have been registered in Sverdlovsk Region at the beginning of this year; 78.2% of those are proper hotels, 6.5% can be classed as furnished apartments, .9% fall in the boarding house category, and 13.9% are tourist dormitories or hostels, regional statisticians report.
Nine hotels have been certified in compliance with the standards adopted in 1994: one hotel is a five-star one, two hotels are four-star ones, six hotels are three-star ones. The remaining 160 hotels, or 94.7%, are still non-starred.
92.1% of all the regional hotels are based in urban areas, 7.9% are located in the countryside. There is still not a single hotel in the town of Aramil. Profits made in this industry amounted to 1.8 billion RUR last year.
