30.4% more dwellings built in Sverdlovsk Region in January-April 2007

238,900 square meters of dwellings were commissioned in Sverdlovsk Region in January-April 2007, which exceeds the figures for the four months of 2006 by 30.4%. 159,700 square meters worth of housing can be classed as one-family houses (this is 1.6 times better than a year earlier); this comes to 66.8% of all the dwellings put up in the region within the given period.

35 cities and districts did better in terms of housing construction than a year earlier, with 31 cities improving last year’s construction rates by 20% or more. Verknyaya Pyshma, Berezovskiy, Revda, Pervouralsk, Nizhniy Tagil, and Kamenskiy district were particularly successful and managed to build 1.7, 2.7, 3.7, 1.5, 1.8, 1.3, and 2.2 times more dwellings against January-April 2006, respectively. As for Yekaterinburg, local builders introduced 86.300 square meters of housing in four months of 2007, which comprises 36.1% of all the dwellings in Sverdlovsk Region and is 11.3% better than a year earlier.
