Sverdlovsk Region Governor asks Koltsovo airport GD to restore traditional Ural Airlines summer flights ASAP

17 April 2007 (12:34)

Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel held a meeting with Koltsovo airport management on April 13, 2007 to discuss the summer aviation season, reports the spokesperson for the Governor.

The meeting was attended by Head of the Governor’s Administration Alexander Levin, acting Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government Galina Kovaleva, Ural Airlines CEO Sergey Skuratov, and General Director of Koltsovo airport Mikhail Maximov.

The meeting participants had to discuss changes in the schedule of summer south-bound flights. Koltsovo suggested changing Ural Airlines’ traditional flight departure time from morning to late evening or night, which inconveniences passengers. Local people, however, are used to flying to the south of Russia and Turkey as comfortably as possible. Besides, the carrier traditionally services quite a few children in the summer, often offering them cheaper tickets. What is more, this year the airline’s passenger turnover is expected to go up 30%.

Governor Eduard Rossel asked Koltsovo GD to restore the traditional summer schedule as soon as possible; his letter to that extent was also sent to Evgeniy Bachurin of Federal Air Transport Agency.
