Verdict returned on 7 people accused of seizing OboronSnabSbyt market

Verdict was returned on 7 people accused of seizing OboronSnabSbyt market on December 15, 2003 in Oktyabrskiy court of Yekaterinburg on April 10, 2007.

The takeover and accompanying large-scale civil disorders (over 200 people took part) resulted in 11 million RUR worth of damage and a criminal suit, with about 100 participants held in detention. The case was investigated by a group of public prosecution officers and was supervised by the Main public prosecution department.

Seven accomplices were sentenced to between 3 and 4.5 years in prison; two of them, lawyers M. Mirgorodskiy and M. Ayupov, got three years in prison with a 24-month deferment. V. Pilshchikov, A. Koryakin, P. Rogosin, Yu. Pivovar and A. Ulyanov will have to serve their terms in prison: 4.5 years, 4.5 years, 3.5 years, and 3.5 years, respectively.

Three people believed to have masterminded the seizure (Boltaev, Oleshkevich, and Istomin) are now in the national search for wanted file. Justice Demenko, guilty of wrongful sentence, will have to go through a criminal lawsuit.
