Federal Antimonopoly Service in Sverdlovsk Region is going to consider the suit of Noviy Grad (the local developer) regarding violation of advertising law on March 29, 2007.

The developer placed an ad with BLIZKO.RU magazine on December 6, 2006 promising to offer winter holiday discounts on the price of a flat between December 4 and December 29, 2006. Each customer was promised a discount, a present, and an all-prize lottery participation with prizes distributed at the company’s office. The prizes would be drawn using the first installment receipts. Federal Antimonopoly Service sent an inquiry asking Noviy Grad to produce a number of papers on the lottery and the discounts, but the builder never sent them any copies of the flat-purchase agreement or proof of the existence and suitable condition of the dwellings advertised. This means the magazine advertisement violated the federal advertising law in that it provided inaccurate information and gave false data on the assortment of goods and their availability at a certain place or within a given time period.
