Yekaterinburg builders do not insure their workers

‘Building companies are not among the enterprises that use the voluntary medical insurance service widely. Covering your workers’ medical insurance is a normal practice in all large companies, yet the local builders, whose employees actually work in the environment that is detrimental enough and often have health problems as a result, almost never insure their workers. Covering the insurance of the management is the most they can do,’ Boris Velegzheninov, Director of Belaya Bashnya Zdorovyie, an insurance company, said to UrBC representative.
‘Most workers employed by the building companies are immigrants who do not always get a voluntary insurance when they come to the country, so they are often unable to go to a state clinic. The builders, on their part, do not see covering the needs of the workforce as something essential,’ Mr Velegzheninov said.
