Property feud in Yekaterinburg Meatpacking Plant Ltd.

30 November 2006 (23:45)

The militia station located in Chkalovskiy district of Yekaterinburg received a message from the General Director of Yekaterinburg Meatpacking Plant Ltd. Vladimir Martsenyuk about the attempted takeover at 5.50 PM on November 28, 2006. A group of officers arrived at the plant and characterized the incident as a quarrel between two business entities, yet the founders of the plant call it a raid.

‘The investigation revealed that two citizens entered the premises of the plant, produced the minutes of the general shareholder meeting and showed it to Mr Martsenyuk; according to the minutes, the current director had been dismissed, and one of the visitors was appointed the new GD,’ the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Administration of Internal Affairs Administration Valeriy Gorelykh said to UrBC representative.

‘We believe this document has no legal power, as, according to the founders of the company, there was never any shareholder meeting, so there couldn’t be any decisions or papers. Yet the group of raiders declared Fedor Gafinets the plant’s General Director. We consider the current state of events to be an attempted raiding takeover,’ says the representative of Yekaterinburg Meatpacking Plant A. Boboshin.

‘The management of the plant (General Director Vladimir Martsenyuk, Executive Director Andrey Savintsev, Chairman Oleg Bykov) are currently to be found on its premises. Yet Mr Gafinets and a lot of his supporters are still here, too; all of them are now in the plant management area,’ Mr Boboshin explained.

Mr Boboshin observed that the two parties had been negotiating since yesterday, but to no avail so far.
