28 September 2006 (12:56)

Over forty best employees of Evrazruda (part of Evraz Group) have started attending classes in the colleges located in the Urals and Siberia over the last few days. This is part of the corporate fellowships and grants program. Evrazruda has, for the first time in its history, invested in educating its best workers in the most needed fields. The candidates were selected based on their actual achievements, references from the department and subsidiary directors, and the results of the interviews and tests held by the Personnel Departments.

Over thirty people started studying to become experts in the field of Mineral Processing, seven workers chose to major in Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration, and three employees intend to become qualified surveyors. For many of them, this is going to be their second degree.

The list of colleges Evrazruda cooperates with is quite large and includes, for example, Siberian State Industrial University of Novokuznetsk, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Kuzbass State Technical University of Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk State University of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold, Ural State Mining University, and Siberian State Geodetic Academy of Novosibirsk.

These are going to be correspondence courses that will last for 4 to 6 years, depending on the first degree or qualification. All students will be given paid holidays for the examination periods. The main proviso is to get good and excellent grades and to stay with Evrazruda for at least three years after the students get their diplomas, reports the company’s spokesperson.
