EVRAZ: Extra Safety Steps to Fight COVID-19

24 March 2020 (09:24)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 24, 2020. EVRAZ Holding announced it was taking extra steps to protect its workers and ensure uninterrupted production in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center’s PR Department reports.

For one, the company employees no longer go on international trips. All workers coming back home from abroad (regardless of whether this was their time off or a business trip) will have to self-isolate on paid leave for two weeks.

‘Access to EVRAZ sites has been limited for foreign experts and contractors. All the preventive measures, including self-isolation, apply both to EVRAZ employees and to the contractors’ employees. Thermal cameras and pyrometers have been installed at all the entry points for temperature monitoring. The workers who do need to keep working on site have been provided with additional individual protective gear (goggles, breathing masks, gloves). Disinfectants and sanitizers are now available at shared spaces. Contactless measurement of breath alcohol has been halted till the end of March. Vehicles and buildings get disinfected on a regular basis,’ the company says.

There’s a special effort to ensure uninterrupted production: logistics, supply, and tech process organization.
