17 January 2020 (09:12)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 17, 2020. Sverdlovsk Region division of the National Guard of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya) came up with a performance report for supervision of private detective and security companies in 2019.

According to the division’s press secretary Olga Belskaya, 734 private security companies operate in Sverdlovsk Region at the moment, with 22,415 licensed security staff members/bodyguards. 60,601 buildings/facilities get monitored by these businesses all in all. Additionally, there are 23 private detectives operating in Sverdlovsk Region.

Last year, Rosgvardiya carried out 51,400 inspections, resulting in 327 administrative lawsuits relating to violation of private investigation and security business regulations, licensing regulations, and firearms control regulations by private security companies.

Private security company employees failing to undergo regular checks but still getting hired for the job and security staff not wearing their security staff IDs on their uniforms (which makes identifying them difficult) remain the two most frequently occurring problems.

Among other issues are failure to inform visitors to a site about video surveillance and access control procedures.
