UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 6, 2019. The Ural Bank for Reconstruction & Development (UBRD), the Ural branch of the State Contemporary Art Center, and Masterklass Art Studio for Children & Grownups coordinated a series of events for the Angel of Hope Project.
According to the bank's press service, eleven children in the 10-16 age group who come from three Yekaterinburg-based schools for children whose parents are not in the picture took part in the project. The craft workshop was part of the bank's Children Believe in Miracles Charity Program. The State Contemporary Art Center and Masterklass Art Studio dealt with the organization of the workshop on making New Year's ornaments.
'With a bit of help from a teacher and an artist, the children made their first toy – a Christmas angel – and learned how to make New Year's cards on a printing press. Most importantly, they were able to do a good deed and share their warmth with the children who really need this at the moment,' the press service says.
'One usually goes through with the Angel of Hope Project around New Year, and we were happy to support our partners and to join in. We provided the studio and helped to organize a rag doll angel-making workshop for children and teens from several local schools. The outcomes were spectacular! The children managed to create ready-to-give-out toys literally overnight; these angels were handed over to Yekaterinburg Fine Arts Museum, and some of the angels will be presented to children who are currently undergoing treatment at the oncology clinic,' says Head of Masterklass Yulia Slavenko.
