UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 25, 2019. OOO FORES’s Asbest branch keeps working to improve its energy efficiency, the plant’s Senior Energy Engineer Alexei Yakunin said in his interview to Asbestovsky Rabochiy.

‘Energy efficiency and resource saving are the two things the Senior Energy Engineer’s Department is in charge of. On the one hand, we try to build up on our power facilities. We only used to rely on a single power substation, but an additional line was introduced later, alongside with major reconstruction and upgrades, which was necessary to ensure sufficient power supply for the production site. On the other hand, we also try to reduce our spending and make good use of what we have. We keep track of our energy spending and get our equipment upgraded. For one, we are gradually switching to frequency converters, since they redistribute the workload better and use less energy while still doing their job,’ Yakunin said.

According to Yakunin, the plant’s energy engineers keep up with the production upgrades.

‘We have to keep up with the ever-changing technologies, take into account all the new developments, and upgrade our equipment. These little adjustments are what power engineering is all about, and we have to keep on contributing to the process. The personnel training courses are among the things that help us stay in the know of modern trends, update our professional skills, and master new equipment,’ Alexei Yakunin said.
