Ural Airlines’ Damir Yusupov, Georgy Murzin Get Hero of Russia Stars

UrBC, Moscow, November 25, 2019. Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Ural Airlines’ pilots Damir Yusupov and Georgy Murzin with Hero of Russia Stars, the Kremlin’s website says.
According to the President, the airplane’s entire crew acted professionally, smoothly, and courageously during an emergency. However, captain Damir Yusupov and co-pilot Georgy Murzin played the key part in this. The two men managed to perform an emergency landing literally in the middle of nowhere and saved dozens of lives. The high-class pilots have deserved their Hero of Russia titles, the President stressed during the ceremony.
Now Ural Airlines’ plane had to perform an emergency landing in a cornfield near Moscow. The plane on Flight U6 178 going from Zhukovsky to Simferopol with 226 passengers and 7 crew members on board collided into a flock of birds upon takeoff.
