Ural Airlines’ U6 178 Crew Get State Awards

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 22, 2019. The crew of Ural Airlines’s flight U6 178 who rescued their passengers during an emergency landing in a cornfield in Moscow Region received state and ministerial awards, the air carrier’s press service reports.

The awarding ceremony took place in Gostiny Dvor on November 20 as part of Moscow Transport Week. The awards were given out by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov and Russia’s Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich.

‘Ural Airlines’ crew members got awarded for their valorous actions during the rough landing of Airbus 321 and evacuation onto a cornfield in Moscow Region. As a result of the pilots’ and on-board crew’s concerted efforts, no one was hurt,’ the press service says.

Flight attendants Dmitri Ivlitsky, Aliya Slyakayeva, Dmitri Goncharenko, Yana Yagodina, and Nadezhda Vershinina received the Order of Courage State Award.

All the seven members of the Airbus 321 crew, including pilots Damir Yusupov and Georgiy Murzin, received the Expert of Airline Service Badge Ministerial Award.

The two pilots are also going to receive their Hero of Russia Stars from Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on November 21. The executive decree to this effect was signed in August 2019.
