UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 21, 2019. Irkutsk International Airport recently welcomed this year’s 2,000,000th passenger, who arrived at the airport on a Ural Airlines flight.

According to the air carrier’s press service, Varvara Lipukhina was flying to Moscow on Flight U6 16 on October 18.

‘There was a solemn meetings/greetings ceremony, with a brass band performance and a shower of air balloons coming down from the ceiling. The airport’s CFO Yuri Kurdyukov and Head of Ural Airlines’s Irkutsk branch Vyacheslav Zemerov congratulated Ms Lipukhina on the happy occasion,’ the press service says.

‘We are delighted to see a Ural Airlines passenger making it as Irkutsk Airport’s 2,000,000th passenger this year. This is a great opportunity to thank Irkutsk International Airport for the work we do together. This year’s 2,000,000th passenger arrived much earlier in the year than before. I congratulate my fellow coworkers on this achievement!’ Vyacheslav Zemerov said.

Now this is the third year in a row the 2,000,000th passenger of the year has checked in at Irkutsk Airport, and every year this happens 1.5 months earlier than in the previous year.

Interestingly, Mineralnye Vody International Airport’s 2,000,000th passenger of the year was also traveling on a Ural Airlines flight. The solemn welcome ceremony took place last Tuesday.
