Sverdlovsk Region: Under 40% of Locals Can Afford Mortgage

UrBC, Moscow, October 8, 2019. 35% to 40% of Sverdlovsk Region’s families can afford to apply for and pay out a mortgage, the Russian Central Bank’s Ural division’s press service reports.
‘This is, in fact, nearly the highest percentage registered in all of Ural Federal District’s constituencies; the share of families who are able to pay out mortgages comes to 20%-25% in Kurgan Region, to 25%-30% in Chelyabinsk Region, to 30%-35% in Tyumen Region, and to 40%-57% in Yugra and Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region,’ the press service says.
In Russia on the whole, only 27% to 35% of families can afford to make a monthly mortgage payment.
