Koltsovo Airport Enforces Stricter Sanitary Regulations Following Armenia’s Anthrax Outbreak

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 27, 2019. Yekaterinburg’s Koltsovo Airport introduced stricter quarantine control regulations for all the vessels and passengers arriving in Sverdlovsk Region from the Republic of Armenia, the local division of Rospotrebnadzor’s press service reports.
Stricter measures are now in order as thirteen villagers in Geghhovit, Gegharkunik Province, and Getashen, Armavir Province contracted anthrax.
’60 people who came in contact with the anthrax patients are now under doctors’ supervision. As it turns out, one person who contracted the disease in one of the Armenian villages is now in Russia. According to the patient, he was involved in the butchering of meat purchased from a private seller in Getashen,’ the press service says.
