Yekaterinburg: Mayor Vysokinsky Invites Locals to Take Part in Church Survey

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 25, 2019. Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexander Vysokinsky invited the locals to take part in a public opinion survey relating to the construction of Saint Catherine’s Church in town; the invitation was announced after Yekaterinburg Duma meeting on September 24.

The event will take place at Polling Station 51 on October 13 and is open to every Yekaterinburg local with a residency registration who is over eighteen.

Alexander Vysokinsky also commented on the land allotments intended for the church construction site that the survey participants can choose from.

‘I’ve said earlier that the plan is to introduce a Russian culture cluster on the former instrument-making plant’s site. We intend to consider this project once again and include the Writer’s Quarter and the Embankment in it. Putting up apartment buildings there would do nothing for the city, and I believe the option we are looking into at the moment is a good one. The locals’ opinion, once we have obtained it, will get taken into account,’ the mayor said.

Vysokinsky added there would be video surveillance and poll watchers at the station.
