12 Ural Banks Go Into Liquidation

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 5, 2019. 23 Ural Federal District-based lending institutions held banking licenses allowing them to deposit natural persons’ money as of April 1, 2019, the Deposit Insurance Agency reports.
‘Additionally, twelve local banks were undergoing liquidation procedures at the time, which means that there were 35 banks in Ural Federal District as of April 1, 2019 all in all,’ the agency says.
The amount of money private customers placed with Ural Federal District-based banks rose by RUB 4.6bn (1%) in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the start of the year and reached RUB 488.2bn altogether. In Ural Federal District on the whole, the overall amount of private customers’ funds currently managed by both the local banks and the banks with headquarters in other parts of the country dropped by RUB 23.6bn (1.2%) in the first quarter of 2019 and reached RUB 1.985 trillion.
