MMK to Direct RUB 300m to Re-House Victims of Magnitogorsk Explosion

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, January 30, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) is going to allocate RUB 300 million to re-house the victims of a gas leak explosion in an apartment building in Magnitogorsk on December 31, 2018, MMK Chair of the BOD Viktor Rashnikov says.
It was reported earlier that MMK has already directed around RUB 100 million in support of certain victim categories as well as in donations to a special-purpose emergency donation account set up in aftermath of the tragedy.
‘Within an hour of the explosion, MMK professionals joined the rescue teams and helped with the emergency operations. More than a hundred MMK Group workers (with the plant’s special-purpose vehicles) were working on the site 24/7 at the time,’ MMK’s Information & PR Department says.
