UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 27, 2018. The Ural Bank for Reconstruction & Development’s Creative Office recently hosted the final round of Train Brain Student Case Championship. The first prize — two research grants — went to students of Software Engineering at Ural Federal University. Four other prize winners, UFU students as well, got paid internships at one of the bank’s IT or Analytics sub-departments. Finally, two more students (Ural Federal University and Ural State University of Economics) were invited to an additional interview; if these interviews go well, the students will be granted paid internships as well.

‘As a matter of fact, everyone is a winner at Train Brain Championship: students who didn’t win any actual prizes had a great opportunity to assess their professional expertise against the potential employer’s requirements. They can improve their skills if necessary and ask for a custom-made skills development plan from our experts. The bank sees these case championships as an excellent way to form a talent pool of young and promising professionals who are interested in career growth and development,’ says Head of the UBRD Corporate Development and HR Management Department Yuri Voronin.

The UBRD Train Brain Championship comprised several stages; first, every applicant had to complete a form and solve one of the two cases to choose from. It is reported that 633 students from Yekaterinburg universities and specialized schools signed up for the competition altogether. Only twelve successful applicants made it to the finals, as their solutions to the business cases on offer proved the best.
