Governor Boris Dubrovsky Attends Record-Setting Pipe-Making Ceremony at ChelPipe

1 November 2018 (10:30)

UrBC, Chelyabinsk, November 1, 2018. Vysota 239 Department of ChelPipe Group’s Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant produced exactly 4,000,000,000 kg of large-diameter pipes between the day it was launched back in 2010 and October 31, 2018, ChelPipe Group’s press service reports.

Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky attended the solemn ceremony of welding that day’s special batch of LDPs, as did the department’s best workers and students on the Group’s Future of White-Coated Metallurgy Corporate Training Program.

‘Chelyabinsk Region Government decided a few years ago that ChelPipe Group needed state funding and support; we can now see our help proved fruitful. A clear strategy, launch of new produce, environmental awareness, impressive production culture: these are all things some businesses are only starting to contemplate, while this particular company has them already,’ Dubrovsky said.

The special record-setting LDP (diameter: 720 mm; layer thickness: 10 mm; steel grade: K56) will get shipped along with other large-diameter pipes in the batch to ChelPipe Group’s key customer Gazprom for Grozny-Mozdok pipeline reconstruction.

‘Vysota 239 Department is the Group’s advanced ‘white-coated metallurgy’ facility relying on unique technologies. The department makes highly sophisticated LDPs for major national and international oil and gas projects. We are honored to see Governor Dubrovsky attend our ceremony today and to have our efforts acknowledged,’ says ChelPipe Managing Director Evgeny Gubanov.
