3 September 2018 (11:08)

UrBC, Astana, September 3, 2018. ChelPipe Group and KurganStalMost supplied the materials necessary to put up Peace Wall Monument in Kazakstan; the unveiling ceremony took place in Astana recently and got attended by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Group’s press service reports.

ChelPipe Group’s pipes were used by KurganStalMost to build a metal frame that now forms the foundation of the petal, Peace Wall’s key feature. The monument is meant as a present to Astana from Aktyubinsk Region on the former’s 20th ‘birthday’.

ChelPipe Group made weld-less, heavy-duty pipes suited specifically for Kazakhstan’s steppe-informed climate (that is, rapid and dramatic changes of temperature and changeable weather conditions). Some 100+ pipes (diameter: 114 mm to 351 mm; layer thickness: 6 mm to 20 mm) were made from 09G2S steel on the Group’s own production sites (META Group’s scrap metal, Iron Ozone 32 ingots, and Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant’s Pipe-Rolling Department’s finished product).
