Sverdlovsk Region: Consumer Loan Exceeds RUR 200,000 on Average

16 August 2018 (09:35)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 16, 2018. A consumer loan issued by Sverdlovsk Region-based banks in the second quarter of the year amounted to RUR 209,900 on average, the National Credit History Bureau’s data indicate.

This is up 24.6% on one year earlier, when the average consumer loan amount stood at RUR 168,400.

Sverdlovsk Region comes 6th in the national rating in terms of average consumer loan amounts. In the country on the whole, the average consumer loan amount came to RUR 196,800 in the second quarter of 2018, which exceeds the figures for one year earlier (RUR 145,200) by 35.5%.

‘The increase was mostly brought about by the fact that larger amounts of money are now being lent rather than by the fact that more consumer loans get issued to borrowers. Banks are getting pickier about their loan applicants these days and prefer to offer loans to borrowing parties with good credit history and higher incomes,’ says the National Credit History Bureau’s Director-General Alexander Vikulin.

The research findings stem from information from 4,100 creditors that share their data with the National Credit History Bureau.
