Ural Airlines’ Passenger Traffic Up 19%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 16, 2018. 3,940,472 people flew with Ural Airlines in January through June 2018, which exceeded the figures for one year previously by 19%, the air carrier’s press service reports.
Moscow-Simferopol, Yekaterinburg-Moscow, Moscow-Kaliningrad, Moscow-Sochi, and Moscow-Barcelona proved the most popular destinations in May and June. Last month, Ural Airlines also operated quite a few flights to take football supporters from Peru, Uruguay, Egypt, Australia, Poland, Germany, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, France, and Spain to World Football Championship games locations in Russia. Additionally, Mexico’s national team chose to fly with Ural Airlines as well.
The airline welcomed 917,526 passengers on board in June 2017 (up 18% on a year earlier). Ural Airlines operated 6,098 flights last month, including the 450 additional ones introduced specially for the World Cup. These were both scheduled and chartered flights to the games-hosting cities such as Saransk (a totally new destination for the air carrier). All in all, Ural Airlines operated flights to all of the eleven World Cup-hosting cities and offered its services to more than 50,000 passengers.
The airline operated 28,132 flights between January 1 and June 30, 2018, including 15,645 domestic flights, 5,741 flights to and from the NIS member states, and 6,746 international flights. The number of flights rose by 16% compared with January-June 2017.
In June, Ural Airlines operated 3,626 domestic flights, 810 flights to and from the NIS member states, and 1,662 international flights. The airline’s passenger turnover reached 2,113,931,000 passenger-kilometers.
