First EXPO Park Application Submitted in Yekaterinburg

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 28, 2017. The exhibition’s coordinating committee received its first application/proposal to design EXPO Park in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast’s Information Policy Department reports.

The names of the applicants haven’t been disclosed yet. They have until February 21, 2018 to complete the project proposal itself.

The selection procedure for EXPO Park concept proposals opened on December 22, 2017. Local architects, designers, and builders were all invited to take part. The coordinating committee will consider all proposals submitted before January 21, 2018.

The winners will be selected in two different categories: the socio-philosophical concept and the architectural/urban planning concept. The overall allocated funding comes to RUR 5m, with RUR 2m designated for the author(s) of the best urban planning concept. The second and third prizes amount to RUR 1m and RUR 500,000, respectively.

The applicant with the best socio-philosophical concept will receive RUR 500,000. The second and third prizes in this category amount to RUR 150,000 and RUR 100,000, respectively, and winners of the fourth to thirteenth prizes will get RUR 20,000 each.
