9 November 2017 (10:02)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 9, 2017. Yekaterinburg-based home owners owned the state RUR 525m in unpaid property tax as of October 1, 2017, Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg Council for Strategic Planning, Economics, & Finances Andrei Koryukov announced at a press conference today.

‘This is a very tidy bit of money. Added to this are RUR 204m of unpaid land tax, which is RUR 69m less than at the start of the year. This decrease looks like a positive trend, but the problem remains. RUR 200m is enough to put up one new kindergarten or rebuild two existing ones,’ Koryukov said.

According to Koryukov, 38% of property tax payments for the year 2016 have already been collected, as have 74% of land tax.
