UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 8, 2017. Sverdlovsk Region division of Roszdravnadzor (the state healthcare watchdog) carried out 137 checks of local medical and pharmaceutical businesses in the first half of the year and found 307 violations there, the division head Oksana Fedoseyeva said at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.
According to Fedoseyeva, the number of problems in the sector doesn't seem to be going down: 359 violations were found in the first half of 2016 in the course of 196 checks.
‘There are up to eight violations per business on average, the most typical ones having to do with lack of the necessary medical equipment, under-skilled medical professionals, and insufficient attention paid to the process of hiring workers with foreign diplomas. We also see non-compliance with licensing requirements,’ she said.
