UrBC, Magnitogorsk, August 1, 2017. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) recently held a business analysis project contest (dubbed New Look) at the plant; the idea was to use the business analysis tools offered within the software package Tableau, MMK Information & PR Administration reports.

Tableau is a service that lets users visualize and process their data, get them broken down into segments, come up with forecasts based on powerful statistical technologies, and make sophisticated calculations (a visual formula tool allows for all kinds of calculations and data analysis). The analysis functions are available right on the screen of your tablet or smartphone either in desktop or browser format anywhere in the world,’ the Administration says.

MMK’s Economics Department makes a special effort to provide good quality, easy-to-understand analysis with great visualization. This is why it was decided to hold the contest among Tableau users, as the software proved very efficient and will soon be used throughout all of MMK Group’s departments and member enterprises. One of the key goals of the contest is to encourage the Economics Department employees to look for new, out-of-the-box solutions to presenting the results of their findings and to help them familiarize themselves with new IT products.
