UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 11, 2017. Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the 8th Innoprom 2017 International Industrial Exhibition during his visit to Yekaterinburg on July 9, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports.

According to Vladimir Putin, the Innoprom experience will be very helpful in coordinating the upcoming World Expo in case Yekaterinburg gets chosen as the host city for the event. The President said he hoped the exhibition and forum would prove fruitful for all the exponents and participants and that the program’s agenda was bound to support the national industry’s development and to promote international integration.

‘We pay special attention to promoting digital economy, with the key points discussed at the strategic development council’s meeting this week. We’ve just had this large-scale international event in Hamburg, where the focus was on digitalization as well. This year, Innoprom is featuring national and international companies which keep launching advanced technologies. Seeing the actual effects of launching these technologies is crucial. Innoprom offers a dense, interesting, multi-layered business agenda to work through, with businesslike yet friendly ambience keenly felt from the start. It’s clear the exhibition has already come to acquire its own style and manner and has great potential,’ Vladimir Putin said.
