UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 9, 2017. Sverdlovsk Region’s Finance Ministry came up with the first draft of the constituency’s next year’s budget, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports.

‘The latest amendments to the Sverdlovsk Region Budget 2018 Act that cover for 8.9bn RUR in subsidies to social welfare projects and municipal programs were adopted at Sverdlovsk Region Government meeting on June 8; the meeting was chaired by Governor Evgeny Kuivashev,’ the Department says.

Budget revenues are expected to go up 8.9bn RUR so as to reach 204bn RUR altogether. Mostly, these will stem from additional tax— and non-tax-based revenues (8.3bn RUR). At the same time, budget expenses will be up 8.9bn RUR (217.6bn RUR altogether), with budget deficit still at 13.6bn RUR.

The increase in social welfare funding will mostly touch upon the constituency’s Healthcare Ministry. The Ministry will receive 1.7bn in extra subsidies, including the 954m RUR meant for the local health insurance funds and 661.3m RUR meant to pay off healthcare institutions’ debts. Also, some extra funding will get directed to Yekaterinburg for a number of purposes, including the healthcare sector workers’ pay.
