UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 28, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant coordinated a special Heroes’ Race on Defender of the Fatherland’s Day, the company press service reports.

Fifty-nine teams comprising workers of the head plant and the corporation’s member enterprises Ural Transport Machine-Building Design Office and UVS Media Service as well as the corporation’s partners’ teams took part in the race. In addition, eleven two-people teams competed in the pair race. 317 people joined the race altogether.

There were five contestants, both male and female, in the regular teams, and a male and a female contestant for the pair race as well. The teams got selected through a blind draw. In order to win, every player on the team had to reach the finishing line, so the teams worked out a special strategy to deal with the obstacles on their way and helped one another out.

‘The competition is called Heroes’ Race because it takes a hero to face a challenge on an assault course. The contestants had do deal with both the artificial barriers on their way as well as inclement weather on this day,’ says Ural Vagon Zavod Head of Social Policy Bureau and the race coordinator Elena Krasnorutskova.
