UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 13, 2016. The 5th extension to Greenwich Shopping Mall will open in Yekaterinburg on December 16. The new building is connected to the city’s Arboretum and Geologicheskaya Subway Station via two underground walking tunnels, the developer reports.
The developer, Obschestvo Malysheva 73, spent more than 6bn RUR on the building, which is 69,000 m2 big. Thus the mall’s entire area (including all the parking lots and all the facilities) comes to 339,176 m2.
‘This is the last extension to the mall, and it is now that everyone can see the entire set of buildings as it was originally designed. Completed, Greenwich doesn’t have a single dead-end passage, the whole thing can be traversed in circular motion. One atrium floats into another, all the galleries are interconnected, and in no spot does the visitor need to turn around and go back to reach a location,’ the developer says.
An underground walking tunnel and a 50-meter travelator take customers from the mall to Arboretum and the subway station, respectively.
