Ural Vagon Zavod Employee Is Literary Prize Nominee

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 29, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant’s Science Editor Sergei Ustyantsev was recently shortlisted for Voyenno-Promyshlenny Kurier’s and Russia’s Writers’ Union’s prestigious Fatherland’s Shield & Sword Prize, the corporation’s press service reports.

Ustyantsev was proposed as a nominee for his fundamental research on the history of Russia’s 20th century industrial culture that came out as a series of essays. The prize will be given out in Pashkov House on December 21.

So far, Sergei Ustyantsev has written three volumes on Ural Railcar Building Plant, Ural Tank Plant 183, and Ural Tank Plant 183/Arms Conversion 1945-1950. The author provides an in-depth study of the machine-building giant’s foundation and growth, with a special focus on the mutual impact the civilian and the military production facilities had on each other.
