31 October 2016 (14:47)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 31, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation is now working on a new publishing project called the Tankprom Library. Every book in this series will be dedicated to one of the corporation’s member enterprises and its contribution to tank-making industry’s development. The first issue dwells on the corporation’s head plant in Nizhniy Tagil.

‘The idea is for the books to come out in time for the member enterprises’ special dates. The second volume, for example, will be available to the public in late 2016 and will describe Ural Transport Machine-Building Design Office in Nizhniy Tagil, as the company celebrates its 75th anniversary this November. A book on Omsk-based Omsktransmash will come out next year, when the plant celebrates its 120th anniversary, and another book on Yekaterinburg-based Uraltransmash, which was founded 200 years ago next year, will also get published in 2017. Most of the books in the series will be written by Ural Vagon Zavod’s Science Editor with a PhD in History Sergei Ustyantsev,’ the company press service says.

All the volumes will have the same design, structure, and number of pages. However, each piece will be unique in that it will portray the story and the specific contribution of a particular plant to the Russian defense industry’s growth.
