Toyota Calls 219,811 Cars Off Russian Market

UrBC, Moscow, October 7, 2016. Toyota Motor is calling off 219,811 cars (Toyota Auris, Toyota Prius, Toyota Corolla, and Lexus CT 200h) that were sold on the Russian market, Rosstandart was informed recently.
These are 7,561 Toyota Auris ones, 210,511 Toyota Corolla ones, 825 Toyota Prius ones, and 914 Lexus CT 200h ones, all sold between February 15, 2009 and September 19, 2015.
The said automobile makes are fitted with a carbon vapor recovery filter in the fuel tank.
‘The filter exhaust stack is located in a spot where it is likely to crack. Moreover, this crack could get bigger over time, resulting in fuel vapor emissions and even fuel leakage when the tank is full,’ the company explains.
